We live in a fast paced world, and more often than not do we end up with a sensation of
vertigo when we try to keep up with an overwhelming lifestyle. A life where we are
constantly pushing ourselves to meet questionably high expectations, and experiencing
high levels of anxiety that do not permit us to live in the now.
Consequently, we become powerless by reacting, speaking, managing and taking decisions from this state.
Grounding is a powerful practice to bring you back to your center, to your power.
I began to use this practice when I was a client and it has become part of my daily routine.
At a moment in my life I was really overwhelmed and at times felt a huge weight on my
shoulders which had become too much for me to continue bearing. I was exhausted and I
did not know how to live differently, I didn’t even know that another way of living was
possible. When I started practicing grounding I began to experience a sensation of
returning to myself. I believe grounding has been about going back to the basics, a simple
walk in nature while walking my dog has gone a long way. It has become a way I nurture
myself, I connect. Grounding along with coaching has helped me and many gain
perspective, prioritize from a place of more balance and tranquility and support better
decision making. Essential for reaching a wiser use of your energy, and enjoying better
productivity at work and in your personal life.
There are several ways to practice grounding and at times one practice may make more
sense than another. It may consist of just walking barefoot on the grass or floor of your
home, lying down on the ground a few minutes, gardening, taking a stroll outside while
mindfully taking in your surroundings or a conscious exercise or dance that requires your
body to move downwards. The intention and objective is to connect with the Earth, with
its energy of support, nurturing and stability. The indigenous of the Andes named it
Pachamama, more familiar to others as Mother earth.
Pachamama in itself is so powerful, an excellent and simple way to unwind and find
yourself once again.
